In festival years, that makes you an adult! From one festival to the next, we have gone from 16 concerts to 33, from 6,000 spectators to almost 30,000, from 400 artists to over 1,000… It has proven to be an event that brings people together and has seen the city of Aix and the Grand Théâtre de Provence take their rightful place at the centre of the European musical landscape. We are proud to say that the event we brought into the world, thanks to the support of the CIC, has grown into a mature, thoughtful, generous adult, that reaches out to deprived audiences, extends to faraway territories with decentralised concerts, welcomes young artists as part of the Génération@Aix programme, and insists on a level of performance each year that is second to none.

Aix en Provence has the most grade I listed monuments in France, after Paris. Tourists can also visit the David Hockney exhibition in Musée Granet during the time of the festival.
There is no specific dress code for the festival events. Visitors are advised that the evenings can be chilly and they are advised to bring a jacket to the late performances.
Light snacks and a full-service bar are available before the concerts and during intermissions at the bar of Grand Théâtre de Provence, “Teddy Bar & Restaurant”.
