Festival de Pâques

31 March - 16 April 2023, Aix-en-Provence, France
About the festival
10 years of emotions!

In festival years, that makes you an adult! From one festival to the next, we have gone from 16 concerts to 33, from 6,000 spectators to almost 30,000, from 400 artists to over 1,000… It has proven to be an event that brings people together and has seen the city of Aix and the Grand Théâtre de Provence take their rightful place at the centre of the European musical landscape. We are proud to say that the event we brought into the world, thanks to the support of the CIC, has grown into a mature, thoughtful, generous adult, that reaches out to deprived audiences, extends to faraway territories with decentralised concerts, welcomes young artists as part of the Génération@Aix programme, and insists on a level of performance each year that is second to none.

Over the course of 10 years, we have welcomed some of the world’s greatest per - formers, from Yo-Yo Ma to Daniel Barenboim, Martha Argerich to Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the most amazing orchestras from the Staatskapelle Dresden to the London Symphony Orchestra. And throughout, we have witnessed exceptional stories and experienced heart-stopping moments of grace. The tenth anniversary will, of course, be an opportunity to hear some of the world’s most in-demand orchestras and soloists, but you will also get a chance to see three excep - tional concerts by all of the musicians who have emerged from the Génération @ Aix programme since 2013. We would like to wish the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival a very happy birthday and a very long life!

Dominique Bluzet, Executive Director and Renaud Capuçon, Artistic Director
