About the festival

Leeds Lieder is dedicated to showcasing the world’s finest singers and pianists in recital, promoting and celebrating canonical and contemporary art song. Leeds Lieder Festival platforms both celebrities of Lieder and young artists breaking through, schools and community events as well as experts delivering various masterclasses and performing in concerts throughout.

Touches of Sweet Harmony takes place in various venues across the city of Leeds, United Kingdom. Most of the events take place at prestigious concert venues Howard Assembly Room and Leeds Conservatoire, both in the city centre.

Howard Assembly Room and Leeds Conservatoire are professional concert halls with fantastic acoustic qualities and reputations that have seen them receive artists of international calibre. These indoor venues are gems in Leeds’ cultural offering, and just a short walk away from each other. Community event venues Pudsey Civic Hall and Leeds Minster are both indoors, while outdoor venue Kirkstall Abbey is one of England’s best preserved Cistercian monasteries, a must-see for visitors looking to explore outside of the city centre.

How to get there?

Our primary venues, Howard Assembly Room and Leeds Conservatoire, are within a 15-minute walk from Leeds Train Station, which is well-connected to national and regional lines. There is also a direct train between Leeds Train Station and Manchester Airport.

The venues are within a 10-minute walk from Leeds Bus Station for more local and regional public transport access.

Leeds Bradford Airport is the nearest airport, around 25-mins away from the venues by car. Taxis and buses to the city centre are available from the airport.

Further travel information for each venue via the venue websites: Leeds Conservatoire and Howard Assembly Room.
